Dear Friends of the German Consulate General, Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter NYConsulate Events!
The Walther Collection kicks off today with the first solo exhibition of British-Nigerian artist Rotimi Fani-Kayode. Nothing to Lose will be on view through July 28.
Frank Peter Zimmermann, acclaimed German violinist, wraps up March with three more performances at the New York Philharmonic from March 29 - 31.
The University of Cologne Chamber Choir takes you on a journey around the world - one night only - on March 27 at 7.30 p.m.
Make sure you're on our guest list for our events next week at the German Consulate. March 27 at 6 p.m. we will present you Marc Ohrem-Leclef's first US exhibition "Cowboys and Indians." Evelyn Ulex and Hartmut Becker will perform on March 29 at 6 p.m. Free admission. RSVP required.

The German Consulate General New York hosts Marc Ohrem-Leclef’s first US exhibtion, “Cowboys and Indians.” The exhibtion will be on view from March 27 through April 27, with an exhibition opening on March 27 at 6 p.m. Free admission. RSVP required.

Pianist Evelyn Ulex returns to the German House for a unique performance of music and readings with actor Hartmut Becker on March 29.

Ariadne Daskalakis, violinist, and Anthony Spiri, pianist to perform at the German Consulate General

Ariadne Daskalakis and Anthony Spiri are two unusually captivating musicians whose collaboration brings forth new interpretations of the sonata repertoire. Daskalakis and Spiri are both Americans whose musical educations led them each on an odyssey to Europe. They met in Cologne, Germany, where they are both Professors at the Cologne Conservatory for Music and Dance, the largest conservatory in Europe. They will perform on April 26 at 6 p.m. Free admission. RSVP required.

Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose
|
|
The Walther Collection presents Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Nothing to Lose, the first solo exhibition in New York of photographs by the British-Nigerian artist, featuring large-scale color and black-and-white portraits from the late 1980s. The exhibition, on view at The Walther Collection Project Space from March 23 through July 28, will focus on the influences of exile, religion, sexuality, and death on the artist’s last works.

The Goethe-Institut New York hosts an evening with Susanne Kippenberger about her acclaimed biography “Kippenberger: The Artist and His Families” (J & L Books, 2012) and the life and work of her brother, German artist Martin Kippenberger. The reading and discussion will be held on Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at the Goethe-Institute Wyoming Building.
