German Consulate General Los Angeles
Due to construction work, the visitor area of the German Consulate General of Los Angeles will be closed from March 20 until May 5, 2017.
During this time the passport and visa section will not be able to process any applications, but we will remain available by phone and email.
Please make an appointment to apply for a Schengen Visa at the following German missions in the US:
To apply for a National Visa (more than 90 days), please make an appointment with the German Consulate General of
Applicants who have received a visa from the German Consulate General of Los Angeles since June 2014 or who have already submitted fingerprints to the Schengen authorities during a past visa application with another Schengen State are asked to send their applications to the German Consulate General of Los Angeles through the US Postal Service.

Call for Submissions: Berlin – Los Angeles 2017
Berlin and Los Angeles will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of their city partnership in 2017. Events are planned for both cities and to mark this milestone, the Federal State of Berlin is offering funding for projects that will facilitate sister city exchange in fields such as the arts and culture, business and technology, climate control and renewable energy, education and youth programs as well as sports. Berlin - Los Angeles 2017 Call for Submissions
A high-ranking delegation from the German state of Thuringia, led by Wolfgang Tiefensee, Thuringian Minister for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital, visited Los Angeles on the last leg of their California tour, where they signed a MoU with USC and attended a reception given in their honor.

Consul General Hans Jörg Neumann welcomed Ulla Schmidt, Vice President and Deputy Speaker of the German Parliament, and Dr. Andreas Görgen, Director General for Culture and Communications at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, to Los Angeles for a three-day visit.
