Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer took part in a Day of Remembrance ceremony at Temple Ramat Zion, where he gave a speech to hundreds who gathered to pay respects and remember the victims of the Holocaust.

The Consulates General of Germany and Israel in Los Angeles hosted a joint event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations established between Germany and Israel with a special screening of “Death & the Maiden” at the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 31.

A delegation of German soldiers took part in the US Marine Corps Paralympic Trials in Camp Pendleton, California in early March. Brigadier Dirk Backen, the head of the Military Attaché in Washington, also attended the event to cheer on the German team.

Deputy Consul General Stefan Biedermann visited the German booth at the AFCI Locations Show 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, where Germany was showcased as a film location destination.
The Beach City Baseball Academy of El Segundo is pleased to announce the participation of the German national little league team in their 4th annual “12 and Under International Baseball Tournament" on March 28 and 29 at Recreation Park in El Segundo, California.

During his recent visit to Los Angeles, the Los Angeles-Berlin Sister City Committee hosted a reception for Björn Böhning, State Secretary and Head of the Senate Chancellery of the Federal State of Berlin.

During his recent trip to Utah, Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer, who will retire in the summer, used the opportunity to bid farewell to officials of the State of Utah. In this capacity, he was received by Lt. Governor Spencer Cox.

Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer bid farewell to outgoing Honorary Consul Charles W. Dahlquist, II and welcomed James T. Burton as the new German Honorary Consul for Utah.

Deputy Consul General Stefan Biedermann visited Albert Einstein Academies in San Diego, where he presented the school board with a grant from the German government to foster the German language program.

Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer participated in the International Holocaust Remembrance Day observance at Palm Desert Civic Center Park, where 300 people gathered to never forget the tragedy of the Holocaust and mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp.
Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer recently paid a visit to the State of Colorado, where he met with German and American representatives in the areas of business, culture, and education. He also bid farewell to longtime Honorary Consul Bernhard Bleise.
Consul General Dr. Bernd Fischer gave the keynote speech at the opening of the new exhibit “Jewish Life in Germany Today” in Los Angeles at UCLA Hillel. The exhibit encompasses 25 panels that tell the stories of a cross section of Jews living in Germany today.
