Ambassador Scharioth Welcomes Finance Minister Steinbrück to Residence

Ambassador Klaus Scharioth welcomed German Federal Finance Minister Peer Steinbrück to the Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, DC, on April 10. The Finance Minister was in Washington for the meeting of G7 finance ministers and for the spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund. Both meetings focused on how to address the current crises of the financial markets. At the spring meeting of the IMF, the upcoming structural reform of the organization was adopted. The reform will result in a new income structure and a new distribution of quotas of the IMF.
