Violinist Augustin Hadelich Charms Audience at Ambassador's Residence

Ambassador Scharioth recently welcomed Augustin Hadelich, gold medalist of the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, to the residence for an intimate concert of pieces by Beethoven, Franck, and Schnittke.

Ambassador Scharioth welcomed Augustin Hadelich, gold medalist of the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, to the residence for an intimate concert and reception on November 16. Accompanied by Philip Edward Fisher on piano, Hadelich performed Beethoven's Sonata No. 3 Op. 12, Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano, and Schnittke's Sonata No. 1.

A graduate of the Instituto Mascagni in Livorno and The Julliard School, Hadelich will make his Carnegie Hall orchestral debut in January 2008 and his Carnegie Hall solo recital debut in March.
