Apply for the International Parliamentary Scholarships (IPS)

  • Are you interested in politics?
  • Would you like to gain insight into the workings of our democracy?
  • What would you think about spending five months in exciting and bustling Berlin?
  • Are you fascinated by the idea of working together with 100 young people from 25 countries?

We would like to invite you to take part in an exciting opportunity: an internship in the office of a Member of the German Bundestag, our parliament. Combined with a supplementary academic program organized by Berlin’s three universities and the fun of being together with people from other nations, this unique experience awaits you in our capital.

IPS Program  

What the Bundestag expects of you:

  • Interest in politics
  • Excellent knowledge of German
  • College degree (B.A., B.S.)
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Born after March 1, 1979

  • Monthly grant of € 450.00
  • Free accommodations
  • Health, accident, and liability insurance
  • Reimbursement of your travel expenses to and from Berlin
