Die persönliche Beantragung eines Passes beim GK Houston ist nur noch mit Termin möglich.

Postalische Anträge auf einen Europapass können nicht mehr
bearbeitet werden.

In jedem Fall ist persönliche Vorsprache erforderlich!

Anträge für Kinder unter 6 Jahren können weiterhin per Post beantragt werden, da in diesen Pässen keine Fingerabdrücke gespeichert werden.

Pässe, die ohne Fingerabdrücke vor dem 1. November 2007 ausgestellt wurden, behalten die im Pass angegebene Gültigkeitsdauer.

So kommen Sie zu Ihrem Termin:
Das Generalkonsulat hat die Firma Abtran Ltd. damit beauftragt, Termine für unsere Pass- und Visakunden zu vergeben. Aus organisatorischen Gründen ist es nicht möglich, einen Termin direkt über das Generalkonsulat zu vereinbaren.

Um einen Termin für eine persönliche Vorsprache im Generalkonsulat zu vereinbaren wählen Sie bitte die
1-800 325-4848 (bei Zahlung mit Kreditkarte) bzw.
1-900 776-5555 (Telefongebühr 2,49 USD pro Minute).

Servicezeiten (Abtran): Mo-Fr 8.30 Uhr bis 20.30 Uhr.
Kein Service: 24.12., 25.12., 26.12., 31.12., 01.01. und Karfreitag.

Abtran vergibt alle Termine für das Generalkonsulat, kann jedoch keine inhaltlichen Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der Passbeantragung beantworten. Für Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der Passbeantragung lesen Sie bitte hier.

Abtran bestätigt Ihnen den Termin per E-mail mit einer Referenznummer, Datum und Uhrzeit. Bitte stellen Sie anhand unserer Webpage sicher, dass Sie zu diesem Termin alle erforderlichen Unterlagen mitbringen, da nur vollständige Anträge bearbeitet werden können.

All passport applicants have to arrange for an appointment.

Mail-Applications for a regular German passport can no longer be processed
You have to apply in person for your new passport!

However, passports for children under the age of 6 years can be applied for by mail as finger prints will not be entered in those passports.

Passports issued before Nov. 1, 2007 without finger prints stay valid until the expiration date.

How to arrange for your appointment:

The Consulate has appointed Abtran Ltd. exclusively to handle all appointments for our passport and visa clients. You cannot arrange for an appointment by calling the Consulate directly.

To make an appointment, please call: 1-800 380-0088 (to pay using your credit card) or 1-900 776-4444 (calls cost $2.49 per minute) .

Opening hours of calling center (Abtran) are 8.30 am to 8.30 pm Monday to Friday except for December 24, 25, 26, 31, 2007, New Years Day and Good Friday.

(Note: Some premium numbers (1-900) are blocked by workplaces and also by some cell phone companies. We suggest that you contact your cell phone company to have the number unblocked. Alternatively, you may call the 1-800 number from most phones and pay via credit card.)

The lines above are to be used for appointment setting only. Once you have made an appointment, you will receive an e-mail with your reference number, date and time. Abtran will only handle the appointment and not answer any questions regarding the passport application itself. This information can be found here.
