Opening Reception for Art Exhibit by Gabriella Moliné
Los
Angeles – On Wednesday, October 26 th, 2005 , the German Consulate
General held the opening reception for the art exhibition entitled “Attractions”
by German artist Gabriella Moliné. Deputy Consul General Norbert
Kuerstgens welcomed about 130 guests to the exhibit which will be on view
to the public until January 10 th, 2006.
Gabriella
Moliné studied event marketing at Frankfurt University and performing
arts in Los Angeles , New York and Hamburg . As a musical performer she
appeared in numerous TV-shows, musicals and hosted international events.
She is also the author of two best-selling cook books in Germany . After
relocating to Los Angeles , Ms. Moliné developed her true passion
– the visual arts. It began with a series of collages and acrylic
paintings entitled “Human Revolution”. The combination of
selected passages from the major writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Gabriella’s
contemporary interpretations and her vision for a humanistic way of life
meld the past, present and future into one. This work was shown in a solo
exhibition at the World Peace Cultural Center in Los Angeles this year.
The
artist’s comments to her latest work on display at the German Consulate:
“The basis of my work is the “Law of Attraction”. Whatever
we put our attention on will expand. We are magnets, attracting to ourselves
whatever we are thinking and feeling. I am focused on happiness, hope
and the inexhaustible beauty of life. Pure joy is the fundamental component
that I wish to reflect in my paintings. I believe that when we give thought
to something, we invite it into our personal and artistic experience.
I want my work to serve as a daily inspiration to remind us to dream.”
The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. or by appointment.
The
artist receives red roses from husband Norbert Alexiou
as Deputy Consul General Norbert Kürstgens looks on with approval.
