German Clubs and Societies
According to the 1990 census, most Americans claim some degree
of German ancestry or ethnic origin than any other group:
57,9 million, 23,3 % of the total population. Over the centuries
the German immigrants organized and preserved their regional
customs and traditions in German clubs and societies. The cultural
and social engagement of the Germans and the German-Americans
is still very active.
