“Re-Leafing” the City – Rotary Club DC Plants Cherry Tree in Honor of German Ambassador Scharioth

"Save Planet Earth” has been the Rotary Club DC's theme since 1991. Since then the Club has been “re-leafing” the city, planting 232 Yoshino cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in honor of the club's speakers.

At this spring’s planting the club will be honoring German Ambassador Klaus Scharioth, who is an honorary member of the Rotary Club DC.
