Energy and Climate Policy to Top Agenda as Foreign Minister Steinmeier visits Norway and the United States, August 27 - 31

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit California from August 29 to 31 as part of a five-day trip to Norway and the United States focusing on energy and climate policy as well as scientific cooperation. Both the United States and Norway are important partners for Germany in the field of international energy and climate cooperation.

Foreign Minister Steinmeier’s visit to California will focus primarily on climate-friendly technologies and emissions trading. He will meet with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Members of the California State Senate and the California State Assembly as well as representatives of industry and research. Foreign Minister Steinmeier will be accompanied by a delegation of German business representatives. He will be in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley on Wednesday, August 29, and Sacramento on Thursday, August 30, leaving San Francisco to return to Berlin on Friday, August 31.

His trip will begin in Tromso, Norway, on Monday, August 27.
