• German companies account for roughly 850,000 jobs in the US, and US companies have created roughly 800,000 jobs in Germany.

• Bilateral trade in goods and services surpassed $120 billion in 2002. The US remains the second largest market for German exports and is the third largest importer of goods to Germany.

• German capital market investment in the US was $91 billion, and US investment in Germany was $71.6 billion (2001).

• European FDI in the US totaled $946.8 billion, accounting for 71 % of all FDI presently flowing to the US. US FDI in Europe currently amounts to $725.8 billion, accounting for 52.2 % of all FDI coming to Europe (2001).
