The summit will kick off with a gala
dinner hosted by Ambassador Wolfgang
Ischinger and Mrs. Jutta Falke-Ischinger and featuring the presentation
of the Batuz Foundation Milosz Portfolio to the National Gallery of
Art by Hilmar Kopper, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DaimlerChrysler
AG. William Rhodes, Senior Vice Chairman, Citigroup Inc., generous
sponsor of the evening, and Robert A. Lutz, Vice Chairman, General
Motors Corporation, will speak. And stage, screen and recording artist
Ute Lemper will perform.

Wolfgang Clement, German Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Labor,
on his first visit to Washington since taking office, will address
the GAES plenary session at the US Chamber of Commerce. US Trade Representative
Ambassador Robert B. Zoellick and Michael Rogowski, Chairman of the
Federation of German Industries (BDI), will also address the plenary
session.
The full day of meetings will also feature a CEO Roundtable and panel
discussions, with an address by US Senator Paul S. Sarbanes (D-MD) and
remarks by Friedrich Merz (CDU), Member of the German Bundestag.
The day will close with a viewing of the exhibition "Ernst Ludwig
Kirchner, 1880-1938” at the National Gallery of Art and a dinner
sponsored by Porsche Cars North America, Inc., with keynote speeches
by Minister Clement and US Senator Robert Bennett, (R-UT), Chairman of
the Joint Economic Committee.
And in a special event, Mrs. Jutta Falke-Ischinger will host an exclusive
preview on May 20 of the Bogner Womenswear Fall 2003 collection in
the presence of designer Sônia Bogner.

The Congressional Study Group on Germany and International Management
and Development Institute (IMDI) are hosting a working breakfast for
summit participants with senators and congressmen on Capitol Hill.
