As reported by boxing news website BoxeoMundial, New York-based sports and entertainment network MSG has acquired the television rights to air a heavyweight championship fight live on Saturday (April 14) between WBA champion Nikolai "Giant Russian" Valuev and undefeated heavyweight contender Ruslan "White Tyson" Chagaev.

Standing at seven feet tall, "Nikolai Valuev is the biggest and tallest champion of all time, holding an amazing 11-inch height advantage over the undefeated Ruslan Chagaev. Valuev is only four wins away from breaking the 49-0 record of legendary boxer Rocky Marciano," BoxeoMundial reported on Tuesday.

As recently recounted by TWIG, boxing has become big business in Germany. A new boxing scene where East meets West in the heart of Europe has drawn legendary US promoter Don King across the Atlantic. King has even suggested that Valuev can revive US boxing.

"Valuev vs. Chagaev" is a Sauerland Event promoted by Don King Productions. International boxing commentator Dave Bontempo will call the action for the fight.

The fight will be telecast live on Saturday, April 14, at 4:30 pm Eastern Time and will be re-broadcast on MSG the following Saturday, April 21, at 8 pm and 11 pm, with additional airings throughout the month of April.
