High Tech Strategy, Innovation on Agenda for Schavan’s Washington Visit
Innovation is the key driver for economic growth and success, believes German Education and Research Minister Annette Schavan, who is spearheading Germany’s High Tech Strategy and coordinating the 6 billion-euro program to promote research development. Dr. Schavan will be in Washington this week to speak with administration officials, researchers and scientists. She will deliver a keynote address on “Strategic cooperation for the future: the German High-tech Strategy” at the National Press Club. Schavan will meet with Education Secretary Margaret Spellings and with John H. Marburger III, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She will also visit NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, for a perspective on health research and meet with young German researchers in Washington. June 6, 2007 Links
