German Leaders Convey Condolences After Latest Bombings in Jordan
German Government leaders expressed condolences to King Hussein of Jordan after the latest bombings in Amman. Letter of Condolence from Chancellor Schröder to His Majesty Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Your Majesty, It was with great consternation that I learned of the inhumane bomb attacks in your country to which so many people fell victim. Rest assured that the German Government is at Jordan's side in these tragic hours. These barbaric acts are to be condemned in the sharpest manner. They warn us not to let up in our efforts in the fight against international terrorism. I would like to express my deep sympathy to you and the citizens of your country. Please convey my sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as my best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. With deep sympathy, Gerhard Schröder Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Federal Foreign Minister Fischer condemns bomb attacks in Amman Today (10 November) Federal Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer issued the following statement on the bomb attacks on three international hotels in the Jordanian capital: "The Federal Government categorically condemns the vile bomb attacks which last night in Amman killed a large number of people and injured well over a hundred others. For this act of terrorist violence there can be no justification whatsoever. Staff from the German Embassy in Amman were present at the scene immediately following the attacks, and they are in constant contact with the Jordanian authorities in case any German nationals require assistance. To our current knowledge there are no indications that Germans are among those killed or injured. November 10, 2005
