Head to 92Y for a luminous evening of music, words, movement and visual art on March 6.

The German Consulate General Recommends:

Love in Fragments brings together violinist Gergana Gergova, cellist Alban Gerhardt, choreographer/dancer Sommer Ulrickson, dancer Dan Peleg, and sculptor Alexander Polzin in a luminous evening of music, words, movement and visual art, framed by projected readings from Roland Barthes’ philosophical exploration, A Lover’s Discourse, with selected works by J.S. Bach and Jörg Widmann.

Love in Fragments was conceived shortly after Gerhardt, Gergova, Ulrickson, and Polzin met. Keen to explore areas outside their comfort zones, they embarked on an adventure that combines their aesthetic and vision. The performance investigates aspects of love – romantic (falling in and out of), societal, obsessive, narcissistic, banal – in eight fragments. Polzin has created a large, glowing sculpture that is comprised of several parts; over the course of the presentation, the dancers and musicians interact with it, take it apart, lay down inside it, and put it back together.
