Whitney Museum of American Art‘s 2019 Biennial featuring three German artists runs through September 22, 2019.

The German Consulate General Co-Presents:

The German Consulate General is proud to be sponsoring this year’s Whitney Biennial with three extraordinary German artists. We are delighted to welcome Kota Ezawa, Christine Sun Kim and Iman Issa and their works of art to New York.

The Whitney Biennial, taking place from May 17 to September 22, features an array of performances and films integral to the exhibition as a whole. Multiple artists and one collective will be working on performance projects in the galleries, in the theater, outdoors, and in various other spaces throughout the Museum. A dedicated screening program of eighteen films will immerse viewers in tales ranging from the world of global Black music, fashion to visual culture.

This year’s Biennial will feature a total of seventy-five artists and collectives working in painting, sculpture, installation, film and video, photography, performance and sound. The exhibition was introduced in 1932 and is the longest-running exhibition in the US.
