On January 31, the United Kingdom officially left the European Union after almost 50 years of membership. While the UK and the EU are still in the midst of negotiating the details of their future relationship, we will discuss the implications for the Transatlantic Alliance. Brussels will lose its close ties to Washington via London, but could greater independence perhaps also benefit the transatlantic partnership?
