The German Consulate General Recommends:

When the pandemic started in the US and concerts were cancelled one after another, the team from the PYPA Piano Festival had to make a difficult decision whether or not to cancel this year's festival. Instead of cancelling, they moved the festival online. And the result has been absolutely amazing! The team has just concluded the application selection and chose 25 talented young pianists from Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and 11 States across the United States.

Working with seven time zones worldwide, the festival organizer were able to be creative and stretch a day into as much as 41 hours! (from Australia time to US Pacific time zone). There will be 128 hours of master classes, lectures, studio concerts and the PYPA Livestream Performance Awards, all open to the general public virtually!

PYPA (Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy) was established by concert pianist Ching-Yun Hu to help young artists achieve their dreams of becoming professional pianists. It has blossomed into one of the most highly-anticipated summer piano festivals on the East Coast encompassing intensive master classes and public concerts featuring internationally celebrated pianists. The accompanying guest lecture series led by music industry executives offers insight to students and the local community.

Join in from August 1 – 9, 2020 for an intensive 9 days of music-making with Academy's world renowned faculty and the piano stars of tomorrow.
