Hear about “data humanism” from award-winning information designer and expert in data visualization, Giorgia Lupi.

Today data is everywhere. But what does data really mean, and how can we extract real value from it in our daily lives? In this illustrated talk, celebrated information designer Giorgia Lupi, recipient of a Cannes Lion and an Information is Beautiful award, discusses our new data reality and “data humanism,” her unique philosophy for understanding and working with data.

With over 1 million views of her TED Talk and work in the permanent collection of the MoMA, Lupi is one of today's most influential voices in the field of data visualization. Surveying her diverse work over the last decade, Lupi will introduce her distinctive approach to data and design by looking at the human side of data and offer a look into the far-reaching applications of her work, from corporate to institutional to personal.

Join us next Tuesday, June 22 to hear how to harness data as a design tool while respecting human privacy and experience in its output. You'll have the chance to ask Lupi your questions directly during the short Q&A moderated by Benjamin Bergner from 1014.
