In this transatlantic conversation, Prof. Dr. Peter W. Marx from the University of Cologne and Prof. Dr. Tracy C. Davis from the Northwestern University will discuss how theatre changed during the pandemic when performances moved online.

How does theater change in the digital world? Join us for a conversation with Tracy C. Davis, Ethel M. Barber Professor of Performing Arts and Professor of English and Theatre at Northwestern University, Peter W. Marx, Professor of Theatre and Media Studies at the University of Cologne, as well as students Annabell Blank (University of Cologne) and Keary Watts (Northwestern University) about how the pandemic affected concepts of bodies, spaces, aesthetics, or shared space bringing innovation to theater and performance.

This event is part of the FUTURE FORUM: “Before After”, a hybrid conference curated by the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York focusing on the reverberating effects of the pandemic. Taking place in Chicago and online on October 14-15, the FUTURE FORUM invites German and American researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and experts to discuss their experiences of and expertise on how work and lives have been irrevocably altered throughout the course of the pandemic, as well as their outlook on the future.
