The Quadrille Ball offers a magical night of dinner and dancing and benefits transatlantic Student Exchange.
The Quadrille is dedicated to promoting Trans-Atlantic friendship and understanding by raising funds to benefit the Germanistic Society of America’s Scholarship Fund for the exchange of American and German graduate and undergraduate students.
The Quadrille Ball, a white tie charity event, is a highlight of the New York ball season. This year, guests will enjoy a special treat: the 61st Quadrille is going to be the first ball celebrated in the elegantly rebuild brand new marble Ball Room at The Pierre. Mr. Uffe Ostergaard, President of Hapag-Lloyd (America) serves as the 2022 Guest of Honor.
The highlight of the night is the performance of the French dance Quadrille, performed by young professionals who volunteer their time. The Quadrille Ball is organized entirely by volunteers to maximize the benefit for the Stipend Fund. Through its non-profit parent organization, the Germanistic Society of America, the Quadrille supports undergraduate, master and PhD students as well as German teachers. Recipients are chosen with the cooperation of three highly regarded organizations: Columbia University, the International Institute of Education, the Fulbright Commission and Heidelberg University. Over the years, the Quadrille Scholarship Fund has supported more than 600 American and German students. In 2022, the Quadrille will also provide financial assistance to Ukrainian students in the U.S. in need of funding.
During the night of the Quadrille Ball, guests are treated to a reception, seated dinner, dancing to a live orchestra, a Silent Auction with a selection of attractive items, and an afterparty with midnight buffet, open bar, and dancing to a different band until 4am.
