An interdisciplinary event in partnership with the German Consulate General New York and SHIUR.
About this event
The German Consulate General New York in cooperation with SHIUR cordially invites you to 1014 – space for ideas for an interdisciplinary event.
Together we will explore the mutual influence of culture, thought, and spirituality between Berlin and New York. We will both engage with the concept of renewal in Jewish and other sources, offering a contemporary perspective on the German-Jewish relationship.
Participants will encounter the intersection between text, ritual, discourse, art and performance with Berlin- and New York-based creators.
- Interactive text-based discourse by Micki Weinberg, SHIUR Founder
- And musical performances by Bridget Kibbey, Daniel Garlitsky, Duved Dunayevsky, Charlie Castelluzzo, and Pat O'Leary
- Followed by techno sounds by Ari Safari.
- Kosher snacks and drinks will be served.
- Please dress comfortably as there will be seating on floor cushions.
Doors close 7:30pm when the event begins.
SHIUR is a Berlin/NewYork based project that brings together, both in real life and digitally, a diverse group of academics, diplomats, artists, scientists, professionals, and others to explore culture, art and theory through a critical lens drawing on Jewish and non-Jewish sources. Through specially curated discourse-based experiences in galleries, museums, embassies and other spaces, weekly newsletters and virtual SHIURim, participants engage and experience art, architecture, space, text, music, sound, body, mind, theory and whatever else the times offer us.
