The German Consulate and the Germanistic Society of America are delighted to invite you to the 2023 Quadrille Ball on February 11, 2023. The annual sophisticated evening is a fundraiser for scholarships awarded to outstanding students and PhD candidates from American and German universities. This year alone, the Quadrille and its umbrella organization the Germanistic Society of America are able to grant 29 scholarships.
Quadrille guests enjoy a magical night of dinner and dancing to a live orchestra until the early morning hours. Our ball remains as the most elegant event in New York’s German American community. The highlight of the ball is the French Quadrille dance, performed by volunteers who are young professionals from diverse fields and backgrounds.
The Quadrille was founded more than 60 years ago to enhance and strengthen transatlantic relationships through education. It continues to offer young people and future leaders the opportunity to learn firsthand about a different culture, society, and people and to create their own experiences while enhancing their international education.
The Quadrille Ball is administered, planned, organized, and executed exclusively by volunteers with no overhead costs, to maximize the impact of the scholarship fund. Over the years, the Quadrille Scholarship Fund has supported almost 700 students from the US and Germany. Recipients are chosen with the cooperation of three highly regarded organizations: Columbia University, the International Institute of Education, and the Fulbright Commission. The graduate students have successfully concluded the Fulbright scholarship application process before being chosen by the Quadrille.
