Put on your lederhosen and cue the polka music, it’s the 9th annual Oktoberfest organized by the German School of Brooklyn.
Join the German School of Brooklyn as we celebrate the 9th annual Oktoberfest. This year the family friendly party will be held from 2-5 pm on October 1st at Taco Vista on Governors Island. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time because they will include a delicious German themed buffet and we need to know how much food to prepare!
Beer and drinks will be available for purchase. The party will have both free and paid for activities. A Schuhplattler dance and the Oktoberfest atmosphere are free. Bake sale, coffee and a beer stein holding competition will be ticketed activities. Tickets for activities will be available for purchase on site. Activities for children include face painting, popcorn, cotton candy and more!
How to get there? Take a ferry to Oktoberfest! Ferries are available from South Street Seaport in Manhattan as well as Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Red Hook.
Rain date for the event is the following Sunday, October 8th.
