Discover the German literature scene with Goethe Institut's new GEGENÜBER talk series. Join the first online discussion with Helene Bukowski and Shelley Pomerance on June 5 at 1 PM ET.

Helene Bukowski won much praise for her debut novel “Milchzähne”(Milk Teeth), in which a young woman named Skalde defies her isolated existence and fractured relationship with her mother by secretly sheltering a mysterious girl. Guiding the conversation is Shelley Pomerance, host of Writers Unbound, a series on Montreal’s English-language writers on MAtv. From 2016 to 2021, she was a programmer with the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival, and for over 20 years she was a presence on CBC Radio as an arts reporter and program host.

This event will be held in English.
