For one night only, Carnegie Hall becomes the stage for an extraordinary German musical program that bridges monumental choral tradition and the charm of the 1920s. Under the direction of Andrea Fessmann, more than 200 performers come together for a performance of exceptional scale and energy.

At the heart of the program is Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, one of the most celebrated choral works of the 20th century. Performed by a large-scale choir from Bavaria, a children’s choir from California, an American orchestra and internationally renowned soloists, the work captivates audiences with its driving rhythms, dramatic intensity, and unforgettable musical language.

In contrast, the evening also features charming music of the 1920s by The Munich Harmonists, whose performances in prestigious venues across Germany have earned them an enthusiastic following. Their program is interwoven with a narration by Manfred Stecher, one of the founders, tracing the original Comedian Harmonists’ meteoric rise to fame and their tragic downfall amid the political upheavals of their time, adding historical depth and emotional resonance.

This German-American collaboration highlights artistic excellence and cultural exchange, with the choir appearing in traditional Bavarian attire, adding a distinctive visual dimension. The concert promises an electrifying and unforgettable live experience.
