Please note that an appointment is necessary for the processing of most legal and consular matters at the Consulate General in Chicago. To make an appointment, please use our

Pension and compensation issues can still be processed from Monday through Friday between 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. without setting up an appointment in advance.

Telephone calls regarding passport and visa matters are taken Monday and Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Calls regarding passport and visa matters cannot be taken outside of this time window.
Due to the high volume of incoming e-mails, we are only able to reply to those inquiries for which the answer cannot be found on Germany.info. Thus we ask that you please consult the information offered on the website before writing us. Thank you for your understanding.
Please note: Due to space restrictions, it is only possible for people to enter the Consulate General if their personal presence is necessary for the application. We also ask that you do not bring any luggage or other bulky objects with you to your appointment, as it is not possible for these to be stored.
